A 54-year-old special education nurse is on trial in Munich.

He admits to having distributed child and youth pornography.

Munich - With the start of proceedings for the possession and distribution of child and youth pornography content, the accused admitted all allegations on Friday, March 8th.

The lawyer for the now 54-year-old special education nurse announced a “blanket confession”.

The man is accused by the public prosecutor of having made a total of around 1.5 terabytes of images and films available for download on a file sharing platform from January 2021 to February 2023.

According to the indictment, these each show serious sexual abuse of children and young people.

Man in court in Munich for multiple trafficking in child pornography material

The defendant said during the hearing before the 4th criminal chamber of the Munich II Regional Court that he was ashamed to talk about the topic. He was aware that he had done something very bad.

“I hurt these people again through my actions.” As the prosecution states, the man earned around 85,000 euros by offering the pictures and films over the period mentioned.

Since he had lost a lot of money online due to his gambling addiction, this “quickly earned” money was fine with him.

The presiding judge, Sauter Orengo, initially expressed skepticism: Neither financial hardship nor gambling debts were evident in the bank documents.

The defendant's exact financial situation will be discussed further on the next day of the hearing, next Monday.

An expert investigator will then comment on this.

A total of four more court dates are planned over the next two weeks.
