The police went to arrest them in one of the many shanty towns surrounding the Nantes metropolitan area.
Two Roma were taken into custody on Thursday on charges of “extortion against a vulnerable person”, following a complaint from a man and his son, both Romanians and disabled. .
Extorted benefits
Threatened with death, the victims were allegedly extorted of 13,000 euros by the pair, a man and a woman aged 44 and 45, who had initially provided undetermined help to their compatriots, at the time of their installation in France, six years ago.
Their stormy relationship with the Roma duo, as well as the first extortions, nevertheless also date from the start of their contacts.
