According to a recent evaluation, the route between Munich and Hamburg is the most frequently offered flight route in Germany.

Most flights in Germany take place within the country's borders.
An evaluation now shows which routes are the most frequently used.
Munich Airport - Flight passengers don't have it easy at the moment.
Because of the renewed strike by Lufthansa ground staff, almost all flights were canceled; the German airline only wanted “10-20 percent” to be processed.
It is not until Saturday, March 9th that normal operations will resume at Munich Airport and other hubs such as Frankfurt.
The strikes hit a thriving airline industry that has almost completely recovered from the corona pandemic.
An evaluation by the Institute for Air Transport at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), which the industry portal

refers to, now shows that most flights in Germany are domestic flights - even if the trend is downwards.

A ranking that the evaluation produced now shows which are the most heavily frequented routes within Germany.

reports, the DLR evaluation refers to July 2024, as the flight plans for the summer are already ready.
Overall, a clear downward trend can be observed in domestic German flights: the level is currently 10,126 flights, half of what it was in July 2019, when there were still 20,325.

another decline of 6 percent from July 2023 (10,767) to July 2024 (10,126).

Ranking shows: A flight route within Germany is the most frequently offered
The 10,126 flights with departure and destination in Germany are spread over 76 routes, 82 percent of which are handled by Lufthansa and 15.9 percent by Eurowings.
When asked by our editorial team, the crane airline would not like to comment on market management.
The rest is distributed among smaller airlines such as Sylt Air. As

shows, five routes are currently offered most frequently within the route network - the DLR analysis lists them (for July 2024) as follows:
1st place: Connection between Munich and Hamburg with 412 flights offered
2nd place: connection between Frankfurt and Berlin with 394 flights offered
3rd place: Connection between Munich and Düsseldorf with 378 flights offered
4th place: Connection between Frankfurt and Hamburg with 375 flights offered
5th place: Connection between Munich and Frankfurt with 355 flights offered
