Salah Abdeslam, sentenced to irreducible life imprisonment for his participation in the attacks of November 13, 2015, was incarcerated at the Réau central prison (prison for long sentences), in the Paris region, after his transfer at the beginning of February from Belgium, where he was also convicted for the Brussels attacks of 2016. He had urgently taken legal action, through a summary judgment.

In an order issued on Friday, the judges of the court

After this provisional decision, the request for cancellation of solitary confinement will be examined on the merits at a later date.
Before his trials, Salah Abdeslam, 34, was incarcerated in Fleury-Mérogis prison (Essonne) under the very strict regime of isolation.
He was notably the only one in France to be under video surveillance 24 hours a day. Although he is no longer subject to this regime, his defense believes that his placement in solitary confinement is no longer justified.
His lawyers had requested that he be taken from his cell for the hearing, which was refused by the authorities.
