The Town Hall of the 17th arrondissement of Paris is committed to the fight against street harassment.
On Thursday evening, it became the first district town hall to partner with the Umay mobile application, which allows you to travel securely.
This partnership allows it to benefit from real-time mapping of anonymized reports from users who are victims of harassment or assault, in order to strengthen the security of residents in the district.
Umay also offers users the ability to secure their travels by sharing their geolocation in real time with trusted loved ones.
An “opportunity” according to Mayor (LR) Geoffroy Boulard.
“Every year, we think about new actions to contribute to public peace and the security of property and people.
I am thinking of women who avoid a certain number of neighborhoods that are poorly lit, which are not reassuring, or who avoid certain transportation.
Umay is an additional tool to help improve the lives of residents,” said the elected official on Thursday evening when signing the partnership with the application.
