Finally don't talk about Taurus: In "3nach9" Scholz talks about Königsberger Klopse and Zander - there is still a traffic light confession.

Bremen – premiere on Radio Bremen!

For the first time, a sitting German Chancellor accepted the invitation to the talk show “3nach9”.

Olaf Scholz followed presenters Giovanni di Lorenzo and Judith Rakers on the show - in keeping with the anniversary episode.

It is the 600th broadcast of the talk.

The show has already been filmed and will be broadcast on Friday evening (March 8th).

In the current situation, Scholz should certainly be happy not to have to talk about the wiretapping affair or his rejection of Taurus cruise missiles for Ukraine.

The special guest was immediately given the appropriate opening question for the talk: “It is the first time that a sitting Federal Chancellor has sat down in a group like this on Friday evening.

“Why did you accept our invitation?” Rakers wants to know.

Scholz justifies his commitment by saying that 3nach9 is “the mother of all talk shows”.

He and his wife Britta Ernst, also an SPD politician, watch very little television, but like to watch talk shows like the ones on Friday evenings.

Scholz on “3nach9”: Chancellor had “imagined traffic lights to be a little less dramatic”

In the talk, Scholz then made a surprising confession: The Chancellor admits that he had imagined governing with the traffic light coalition would be easier.

“I would like to say that I had imagined it to be a little less dramatic,” said the SPD politician.

It is difficult to bring three parties together.

This was also shown by the ultimately failed coalition negotiations between the CDU, FDP and the Greens after the 2017 federal election.

“That gave me a sense of what could happen to me.”

Scholz was annoyed that so much was being said about the traffic light processes and not about the results achieved together.

“There hasn't been this much speed, this many decisions for a long time.

But all of that is obscured by the noise,” said the Chancellor.

“This is something that is really depressing.” The coalition needs to praise itself more.

Scholz humanizes in the TV talk – and reveals the dish that he “always succeeds” in the kitchen

One example is migration policy, said Scholz.

The coalition has made the most far-reaching decisions of the last 20 or 25 years, including on citizenship law, labor immigration and irregular migration.

“This is a decision that was made possible through a lot of work.” But instead of focusing on that, there is a discussion about which individual payment card regulations should be worked on for eight hours or two weeks.

Things then got a little more personal.

Moderator di Lorenzo talked about the Scholz couple's passion for cooking and wanted to know which dish always works for the Chancellor.

“Königsberger Klopse,” he replied.

The court is particularly suitable for visitors because it is easy to prepare, said the SPD politician.

Königsberger Klopse, zander – or delivery service from Scholz?

“We can cook”

He also likes to prepare various fish, the Chancellor said.

Most recently he tried a pike-perch.

“Not in the salt crust, but in the oven.

Very simple,” said Scholz.

“I thought that was really great.” However, the couple never orders from the delivery service.

“We don’t do that anymore,” said Scholz.

“Not just for safety reasons, we can cook.”

The talk show will be broadcast on Friday from 10 p.m. on several third-party television programs, such as Radio Bremen and NDR.

The talk show will no longer be edited after it is recorded.
