The man suspected of having attacked a sixty-year-old who was leaving a synagogue and wearing a kippah on March 1 in Paris will be tried this Friday in immediate appearance, the prosecution told AFP.
“He is being prosecuted for counts of violence having resulted in an ITT of less than or equal to 8 days (6 days ITT) due to religion and against a vulnerable person”
as well as for
“refusing to give cell phone codes”
, specified the Public minister.
The attack took place on Friday March 1 around 5:30 p.m. rue des Orteaux (20th arrondissement).
The young man is suspected of having hit and caused the 62-year-old victim to fall, who lost
consciousness “briefly”
, before fleeing, according to the prosecution.
A witness also reported hearing the attacker call him a
“dirty Jew
,” adds the same source.
Arrested on Wednesday morning, the police custody of this man, born in 1992, had been lifted for health reasons, before being resumed on Thursday.
