Terna Forward, a Terna group company dedicated to technological innovation and corporate venture capital initiatives, and Dxt Commodities (Dxt), a Duferco group company, have completed an investment round of 2.8 million euros in total, through a joint capital increase, in Wesii, an Italian market leader in inspection and remote sensing services in the renewable energy sector.
In making this known in a joint statement, the two companies explain that "traditional inspection practices for photovoltaic, wind or power line systems involve ground checks that can take a long time and have a significant impact on costs. Since its foundation, Wesii has focused on on the use of drones and airplanes, equipped with high definition and thermal infrared cameras, for the thermographic analysis of renewable plants and electrical infrastructures, thus guaranteeing a high level of accuracy of the analysis such as to identify and geolocate any anomalies. The data collected by the startup - continues Terna - they are catalogued, standardized and analyzed with the support of artificial intelligence algorithms and a proprietary platform, in order to further improve predictive maintenance and asset monitoring".
