The response speech that the Republicans offered immediately after
Joe Biden
delivered the State of the Union, on Thursday night at the Capitol, was given by
Senator Katie Britt,
42, who sought to target the sector that today The Trump campaign needs:
the vote of suburban mothers and young people
, two segments that are elusive.
Wearing a green dress sitting in the kitchen of her house, with a plant and a fruit bowl in the background on the counter, Britt
spoke the entire time on the verge of emotion
, between laughter, deep sighs and tears.
She focused on immigration and said it was a “disgrace” encouraged by Biden, whom she accused of destroying families and creating violence in the streets.
His speech immediately became a trend on social media due to its style, which many
described as “strange,” “theatrical,” and “too dramatic,”
even by conservative leaders.
The video went viral and gave rise to funny memes of American women in green shirts imitating the excited legislator in her kitchen.

I don't drink, but there's a bottle of limoncello in my freezer and Katie Britt just reminded me.
What a sugary rebuttal to #SOTU2024 the Republican Party gave us.
They can't do better.
Biden's predecessor turned them all into cheap clowns.

Who is Katie Britt?
Alabama's Katie Britt
is the youngest woman to represent Republicans in the
U.S. Senate.
She was chosen to give her party's response to President Joe Biden's third State of the Union address.
Sitting at her kitchen table, she accused the president of having lost touch and painted a dark picture of the United States under his watch.
"Right now, the American dream has become a nightmare for many families," he said.
The rebuttal, first uttered in 1966,
usually comes from rising stars of the opposition party.
Britt, 42, echoed popular Republican lines of attack in
his 17-minute speech, hitting Biden hard
over the border crisis and inflation.
Thursday's speech raised his profile to the national stage and
earned the approval of Donald Trump.
"She was compassionate and thoughtful, especially when it came to women and women's issues. Her conversation about immigration crimes was powerful and insightful. Great job, Katie!"
Trump wrote on Truth Social, his own social media platform.
Some saw his speech as
an audition for a spot on Trump's vice presidential shortlist
.
But she and the former president
are not natural allies.
While she spoke, Biden was still in the chamber, greeting congressmen and taking selfies with guests until the lights went out.
