The food banks in the district provide around 2,000 people in need with food every week.
Trend in the current economic situation: rising sharply.
Maisach/Mammendorf – Nevertheless, a dispensary is now closed.
Katrin Rizzi, managing director of the community foundation for the Fürstenfeldbruck district, explains the background.
There was a temporary branch of the Maisacher Tafel in Mammendorf for about a year.
This has now been closed.
Customers can now pick up their food packages at the Maisach headquarters.
An additional issuing day was set up there.
The Mammendorf edition was housed in the Schambergerhaus.
Mainly refugees were able to pick up food there.
According to Kathrin Rizzi, 45 families were eligible.
Just an emergency solution
It was clear from the start that the Schambergerhaus was only an emergency solution.
Unfortunately, says Rizzi, no other location could be found in Mammendorf that would have been more suitable as a food bank shop.
Since an even larger crowd had to be expected when the container accommodation for asylum seekers Am Pult for around 100 people moved in, the Schambergerhaus could no longer be maintained.
With the public
The food for Mammendorf was always prepared in Maisach anyway, explains Katrin Rizzi.
The Maiser Tafel supplies a catchment area that extends to Althegnenberg and the border with the Dachau district.
Those in need can travel by public transport.
This is also possible from Mammendorf and Oberschweinbach.
According to its own information, the food bank on Maisacher Rathausplatz has so far supplied 170 families every week with 60 volunteers.
That corresponds to around 580 people. Now the number increases to 210 families, which include around 800 people.
Therefore, an additional distribution day was set up in addition to Tuesday and Friday.
The appointment
The former Mammendorfer Tafel customers are now served in Maisach every Wednesday between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Although the majority of the volunteers from Mammendorf come to Maisach, more volunteers are being sought.
Above all, additional drivers are needed for collecting food.
The team preparing the issue could also use some support.
