Princess Ingrid Alexandra was off duty to visit her grandfather King Harald.
The military commented after speculation.
Oslo – There was great concern for Norway's King Harald (87).
After Harald V. contracted an infection while vacationing in Malaysia with Queen Sonja (86), he had to have a temporary pacemaker inserted at the Sultanah Maliha Hospital in Langkawi.
As soon as the king returned to Oslo after a special flight, Crown Princess Mette-Marit (50) and her daughter, Princess Ingrid Alexandra (20), made their way to the clinic on Monday (March 4th).
As the future heir to the throne of the Norwegian royal family, Ingrid Alexandra is actually currently completing her military training in the Skjold camp in Indre Troms.
Home leave is actually not common, which is why Princess Ingrid Alexandra even had to celebrate her 20th birthday on January 21st without Mette-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon (50).

One can understand that Ingrid Alexandra immediately wanted to see her grandfather.
But did she behave wrongly and ignore military rules?
It is not known exactly when Princess Ingrid Alexandra began military service
Brage Steinson Wiik-Hansen, a spokesman for the Norwegian army, told the daily
Dagbladet
that it was "normal" for young recruits to be given a longer break after completing the first part of their training at school.
This lasts six to eight weeks, after which the students are allowed to go on vacation.
You can also apply for social, leisure or long-term leave.

Speculation as to whether Ingrid Alexandra received a special permit is therefore denied and off the table.
The military wanted to say that no extra sausage was fried for the princess, but for data protection reasons it does not reveal any further details about the vacation arrangements of its employees.
We can only hope that Ingrid Alexandra will have completed her recruit school when her aunt Princess Märtha Louise marries her shaman Durek Verrett (49).
