Farmers in the southern district have a chance of receiving funding because the wolf is getting closer.
The “wolf herd protection funding” has been expanded to three communities.

– In the municipalities of Egmating, Glonn and Baiern, the “wolf herd protection funding framework” has now been expanded.
The Office for Food, Agriculture and Forestry announced this on Friday, March 8th. The reason for the expansion was the sheep being killed by a wolf at the beginning of February in the neighboring district of Munich, directly adjacent to the communities mentioned.
According to the office, the funding guidelines of the Free State of Bavaria help protect farm animals from attacks by wolves.
Acceptance of wild animals should be increased
This should also increase acceptance of wild wolves in Bavaria among farm animal owners.
The “fences” and “herd protection dogs” funding criteria would now apply to the three communities.
This means that fences and the purchase of a livestock guard dog could be supported financially.
There are two payment dates in 2024
There are two dates for the payment in 2024: June and December.
According to the Agriculture Office, only applicants whose payment amount was recorded in iBALIS up to and including April 17 and set to “Verified” can be considered for the June payment.
The authority therefore asks that you send the documents to the responsible office no later than 14 days before the application deadline.
In Großhelferdorf three sheep were killed
In Großhelferdorf (Munich district) three sheep were killed by a wolf in February.
In Bavaria, isolated wolves are repeatedly detected.
These are often individual migrating animals that have left their parent packs.
Young male dogs in particular migrate very long distances of 50 to 70 kilometers or more every day in search of their own territory.
