European Commission President Ursulavon der Leyen will visit Egypt on March 17 with Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni and Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo, a Commission spokesperson said on Friday.
During the visit the leaders will meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.
"The trip takes place in the context of strengthening relations between Egypt and the European Union," added the spokesperson.
Egypt, like Tunisia, is considered to be a key partner in efforts to stem irregular migration from north Africa to the bloc.
Belgium currently holds the six-month duty presidency of the Council of the European Union.
