“This time we have to go”
and
“proudly feminist”
say the calls for the mobilization this Friday, 8M, Women's Day.
Because?
After making
abortion legal
, opening a Ministry of Women, Gender and Diversity, approving parity in politics, talking about
care tasks, gaps and
daily inequalities, feminism in
Argentina became a beacon for the Region
, and for the world.
But the light bothers those who campaign for darkness and the
“backlash” (reaction) arrived.
In sociological terms, backlash is the rejection of something that becomes popular or successful.
The right could not allow that to happen with feminism and then
it became the main objective to defeat.
Insults and attacks on social networks, ridicule of concepts,
catchy and lying slogans, disinformation, fake news,
are part of the strategy of these anti-rights groups.
They seek to strip feminism of all positive consideration.
In Argentina last year it was said that
it was “pianta votes”.
But a libertarian government won.
From December 10 to today,
poverty and hunger have not only deepened
but the State has withdrawn, denying help to hundreds of community kitchens full of children and
women, the poorest of the poor.
Food will be a central slogan this 8M:
"Without hunger there is no freedom
. "
Milei dismantled the Ministry of Women, seeks to repeal legal abortion, prohibited the use of inclusive language and the gender perspective, has an anti-march protocol, and announced a discount for those who strike this 8M.
In the face of so much provocation, women and diversities promise
massive mobilizations throughout the country.
Milei in Argentina, Trump in the United States, Bolsonaro in Brazil, Bukele in El Salvador, Abascal in Spain
, all aim to destroy feminism.
They need submissive women who continue to submit to the "excesses" of men and
comply with the mandate of motherhood
, which is what guarantees the reproduction of soldiers and workers.
They also
hate another characteristic of feminism: that it knows how to build networks and act in unity
.
The anti-rights deny that "unity is strength."
That is why they oppose globalization and speak of
"globalism"
in a pejorative sense.
Another "ism" to combat.
Attacking feminism is not naive.
It's part of the plan.
