The makeshift accommodation was invisible from the street, hidden behind a thick row of cedar trees, on the edge of a field.

Outside, a tired garden table, tanks to collect rainwater.

On the front door, an old Christmas wreath a few days before spring, which alone tells all the sadness of the tragedy which took place in Maule (Yvelines), during the last weekend.

In this wealthy village near Thoiry, Jeanine, who was going to celebrate her 75th birthday in June, was found dead in the garden shed which served as her home.

The old lady will be buried Monday morning in the municipal cemetery, after a religious ceremony.

It was an acquaintance who discovered it on Sunday March 3.

The retiree was lying on the ground, near her bed.

His left leg and half of his face had been devoured by rats.
