Representatives Martín Tetaz (PRO) and José Luis Espert (La Libertad Avanza) joined, during the last day, the visits received at Expoagro, in which governors, officials, legislators and even the President participated.
Foreign trade attracts all attention, and in the countryside, which is already thinking about the next harvest, clear signals are still awaited regarding the dollar, the tax regime and bureaucracy.
On Friday morning, Martín Tetaz toured the property, with nods to the sector and distance from the ruling party.
“It is an important challenge to know what expectations the field has.
The government started off on the wrong foot because it did so by raising taxes,” said the national deputy.
Along the same lines, Espert referred to the withholdings and declared that “
what is being done with the field is ridiculous
, because a tax is imposed before selling.”
The deputy urged the sector to “fight” for the elimination of the export tax and against industrial protectionism, and gave a talk in the auditorium of the Agribusiness Center during the morning.
In this regard, he explained that his presentation was linked to “conceptual proposals, part of the entire cultural battle that the president is waging.”
However, for agriculture, concerns do not only revolve around state revenue, but also credit and financing channels to boost investment.
For the PRO deputy, the intention of visiting the San Nicolás fairgrounds and racetrack was “to learn a little about the reality of the sector at this time.”
The priority, according to Tetaz, is for “credit to appear a little,” and he put his chips in the private sector to meet the expectations of the countryside.
Last Tuesday, the Expoagro 2024 edition of YPF Agro featured Javier Milei, who spoke alongside Espert before an audience with leaders, businessmen and officials.
The objective declared by the President during the meeting was to reduce public spending to 25 points, but the representative of La Libertad Avanza explained that “the goal that the president has set is impossible to achieve without the support of governors and municipalities.”
For this reason, he blamed governors and mayors for having “gone too far” and paying for “the party of public spending,” which, in his estimates, should decrease by 15 points.
