A Facebook post by a woman from Deggendorf causes incomprehension and anger: a cat and her kittens were abandoned in the cold and rain.
The police finally took her to the animal shelter.
Deggendorf – “How irresponsible, unscrupulous and disgusting can some people be?” Manuela S.’s Facebook post in the Facebook group “You are a real Deggendorfer if...” begins with this question.
On March 6, at 4:26 a.m., she posted several photos of a pink pet carrier that appeared to have been placed between several boxes.

Police take cats to the animal shelter
“Simply abandoning a mother cat with a baby instead of at least taking her to the animal shelter,” incomprehensible to the woman.
“According to conversations with the neighbors, they have been standing out there in the box in this weather for at least 6 hours,” she writes in the post.
It is no longer possible to check whether the timing is correct.
However, the Deggendorf police confirmed the operation at the request of our editorial team.
The cats were taken to the Platting animal shelter.
“This is common with found animals,” says a spokesman for the Deggendorf police.

Anger and horror among Facebook users
The Facebook post caused a stir: “Why did the neighbor watch for 6 hours and not call the police???,” commented one user.
“I could puke…Karma is coming back!” writes another woman a little further down in the comment line.
In addition to such angry comments and calls for a harsh punishment for the person who abandoned the cats, there are also voices that doubt the malicious intent of this person: “Perhaps a child who was overwhelmed with caring for the animals and just “I saw this way out so that the animals didn’t have to starve,” replied another Facebook user.
The comment resonates: “The person could be in a terrible situation and also be ashamed of it.
Maybe need support myself.”
How the cat and her kittens are doing now remained unanswered when asked by the editorial team from the Platting animal shelter.
