The parents of Russian opponent Alexei Navalny, who died in detention in mid-February, thanked the thousands of Russians who came to pay tribute to him at his grave in Moscow since his burial almost ten days ago.

“Our immense gratitude and deepest greetings to all who came and still come to the cemetery, those who bring flowers, write about Alexei, remember our son and pray for him!”
, they indicated in a written note published on Saturday by his widow, Yulia Navalnaïa.
“Thank you for remembering, this memory gives us hope!”

Since his funeral on March 1, thousands of Russians have visited his grave, covered with a mountain of flowers, and continue to go there daily to pay their respects.
After his death on February 16 in an Arctic prison, his mother had to battle for several days with the authorities to recover his body and bury him.
