It could have been an illegal car race.

On Saturday night, Poinger police officers pulled a speeding Ford Mustang and its three occupants out of traffic.

Poing - On Saturday around 1.30 a.m. on Gruber Strasse in Poing, a PI Poing patrol encountered a car that was clearly traveling at excessive speed.

Despite the high speed, the patrol crew managed to follow the car to a parking lot in the commercial area.

The Poing police announced this on Saturday.

However, the vehicle occupants, an 18-year-old and two women, 24 and 25, left the vehicle before the police officers could determine which of the three was driving the car.

Officers noticed that all three were under the influence of alcohol.

After consultation with the public prosecutor's office, a blood sample was taken from all inmates.

The car, a red Ford Mustang, was seized because it was not registered to any of the people.

The driver status will now be clarified by an expert report.

This was apparently not the first illegal car race in the region:

police officers actually wanted to uncover an illegal car race on the A94.

Then there was a crash: someone hit the police car from behind.

The two officers: injured.

The driver of the Mustang racing through Gruber Strasse is facing criminal proceedings for prohibited vehicle racing and drunk driving, the Poing police concluded in their report.

But first we have to find out who it was.
