A new nationalist political party was created on Saturday in Ajaccio.
Under the name
Mossa Palatina
, it claims to be
“autonomist”
,
“identitarian”
and
“conservative”
with
Islamism as
its “enemy” .
Wishing to distance himself from Corsican nationalism which he accuses of being
“perverted by the left”
, the leader of this new party, Nicolas Battini, a 30-year-old doctoral student in Corsican language and culture, assured the palace on Saturday of the Ajaccio congresses in front of more than 400 people that
Mossa Palatina
wanted to fight a
“three-headed enemy”
:
“Jacobinism”
,
“Wokism”
and
“Islamism”
.
Wokism is an English term borrowed from African-American struggles, which demand to stay awake to fight against injustices and inequalities.
The term is criticized by conservative movements who see it as an excess of minority activism.
“We claim the right to criticize Islam and to refuse its massive importation into our country
,” insisted Nicolas Battini, who was sentenced in 2016 to eight years in prison for an attack against the sub-prefecture of Corte (Haute -Corsica) in April 2012.

For the moment,
“it is simply a collective which surfs on the far-right movement”
,
“mainly on social networks”
but which has
“no real political weight in the current political field”
in Corsica, indicated to AFP the political scientist Thierry Dominici, a specialist in nationalist movements who describes an ideology that is
“masculinist and rather backward-looking”
.
“There have always been right-wing nationalists, notably small, very right-wing independence groups, but overall they were a very small minority and many tried to structure themselves and few succeeded
,” the political scientist explained to AFP. André Fazi.
This new party, which claims to be
“autonomist”
and
“against political violence”
, is part
of “the big family of the radical right”
, he added.
It is the fifth nationalist party in Corsica after the autonomist
Femu a Corsica
, the majority in the Corsican Assembly, the opposition autonomist Corsican Nation Party (PNC), the separatist
Core in Fronte
and the separatist recently created from
Nazione
, from
Corsica Libera
.
If there are no far-right elected officials in the Corsican Assembly, Marine Le Pen came ahead of Emmanuel Macron in the second round of the presidential election in 2022 in Corsica, with 58.08% of the votes.
