Symbol of the excess of the United States, Los Angeles is a destination of choice for lovers of the country of Uncle Sam. World capital of the seventh art, tourists flock to the
Walk of Fame
or around the famous letters “Hollywood” .
However, the Greater Los Angeles
region
– the City of Angels and its metropolitan area – does not only attract passing visitors.
60,000 French people, according to consulate estimates, have taken up residence in the sprawling Californian megalopolis.
They come to “
start their business, be closer to their family or expatriate as employees of large companies
”, according to Laure de Hillerin, president of the Los Angeles Accueil association.
However, going into exile in a city that is twelve times the size of Paris is no easy feat.
And this, without counting the surrounding towns which have retained their charm and are just as worth the detour.
To guide those who wish to take the plunge,
Le Figaro
compared the quality of life of more than 250
neighborhoods
in the Californian county - territorial division equivalent to neighborhoods or municipalities (see methodology).
We screened them on the basis of 26 criteria grouped into eight main categories: security, environment, standard of living, mobility, education, health, leisure and even real estate.
Alongside the most famous areas such as Beverly Hills, Hollywood or Venice, we have highlighted these rare gems, little known to the general public.
Here is the ranking of areas to settle in Los Angeles County.
