At the local club's traditional Stoa lifting, student Max Stöhr (17) won the title of “strongest man in Garching”.
Garching
- Fitness trainer Christian Pelger and his four team members prepared specifically for the competition.
“We train deadlifts and squats with weights,” Chris said.
From his team, Hendrik Seidel, Christian Wölfel and Coach Chris made it into the top five in the individual rankings.
The “Benjamin Bierchen” team, to which Max Stöhr belonged, reached second place.
During the first round, Max already showed what he was made of.
“Excessive,” the moderator shouted into the crowd as Max effortlessly pulled the 175 kilo starting weight into the air.
“He’s rebuilding the whole machine for me.”

You had to lift 225 kilos
In the second round, 200 kilos had to be lifted and in the decisive third round, 225 kilos had to be lifted.
“Ziag” shouted the audience and cheered on the men.
Max was able to take the title from last year's winner Hendrik.
The almost two meter tall and strong high school student plays basketball in his free time.
He took part in the Stoalifting for the first time and immediately won the title.
“I didn't prepare for the Stoalifting,” said the winner and asked if he could greet Melina Kirk.
Hans Kastenmüller, chairman of the local association, initially said that there were no strong men left.
That's why the traditional 250 kilo Stoa was replaced by fitness equipment two years ago.
“Our strong beer festival has been going on for 36 years, but men used to be stronger,” said the organizer.
The participants contradicted the statement and convinced the 260 visitors in the room.

Another item on the program was the performance of the local youth folk dance group.
The five girls and boys from the Plattler youth opened the festival with musical accompaniment from the “Unterbrunner Haderlumpen”.
Christoph Biersack, 16-year-old dancer from the local club, showed that he also has other talents besides the Schuhplattln.

In the Stoalifting he supported the third-placed team “Heimatverein” and also achieved tenth place in the individual ranking.
“If you don’t need it, I’ll do it,” he promised.
And he was there!
Hans Kastenmüller has been chairman of the local history association for 23 years.
“I was there with my parents as a child,” he says.
The local association currently has 399 members.
“We didn’t wait for the oana,” said the chairman.
When the 400 is reached, there is a celebration.
