The construction of wind turbines near Buchendorf (symbolic image) is causing a stir - the owners want more, and angry citizens don't want any.

The local council has increased the number of possible wind turbines in the concentration area near Buchendorf to six.
Meanwhile, angry citizens announced that they wanted to launch a referendum against the project.

– Three to four wind turbine locations were previously planned for the concentration area designated near Buchendorf.
Now the Buchendorf owners' cooperative of the Rechtlerwald would like to have a total of four wind turbines on their property instead of the original one, he explained.

Brigitte Kössinger explained the reason for the discussion in the local council on Tuesday evening.
In return, a facility on municipal property will no longer be required.
As a result of this changed plan, a total of six wind turbines can now be built in Buchendorf, explained engineer Robert Sing to the local council and the interested listeners.
From his point of view, the acceptance among citizens was great, said Sing, because 30 citizens from Buchendorf wanted to participate in the Bürgerwind Gauting cooperative.
He calculated that the community also benefits from the EEG (Renewable Energy Sources Act) with 0.2 cents per kilowatt hour.
And the trade tax will probably increase by 20,000 euros.
The approval process with reports could be completed by the beginning of 2025, said Sing. The wind turbines could then be built.
Could - because there was little evidence of the acceptance that Sing mentioned in the citizens' question time.
On the contrary.
The planned wind turbines caused a “massive intervention” in the landscape, complained a Buchendorfer.
“We will start a citizens’ initiative,” announced Anette Bäuerle from the Environmental-Energy-Gauting citizens’ initiative.
“How does the community deal with the significant implementation reservations due to species protection?” another citizen wanted to know.
Buchendorf was ultimately exempted from wind power by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs with a “red circle,” he claimed.
The mayor, however, referred to the concentration areas that had already been included in a partial land use plan for wind power in Königswiesen and Buchendorf in 2012.
Since then, there has been building law for wind turbines, she explained.
Species protection should be examined “most intensively”.
Kössinger further assured that species protection had already been examined at the time, but this examination would be examined again “most intensively” in the upcoming proceedings.
Incidentally, Gauting's wind energy planning was presented in detail at the citizens' event in November, she recalled.
Non-public preliminary consultations had become necessary because the Wind Energy Citizens' Association had concluded a social contract with the municipality.
Matters like these should not be discussed publicly.
Since there were also many supporters in the audience, local councilor Axel Höpner (MfG/Pirates) made an appeal to these or those Buchendorf residents who belong to the forest cooperative.
They would like to promote the citizen participation model “Citizen Wind Gauting” so that the project can be a success and possibly also find widespread acceptance.
