It was eight years ago this summer that the plans for a new Bambi House in Hausham were first presented.

Time to ask Lebenshilfe, where the project is now located.

Hausham

– Inga Kockerols cannot ignore the prophecies of doom.

“Nothing will come of it anyway,” is one of these sentences in relation to the planned new building of Haus Bambi in Hausham, reports the managing director of Lebenshilfe Miesbach.

Speculators are convinced that the project was certainly buried secretly and quietly.

How else can one explain that the local houses at the foot of the Huberspitz have long been under construction, while nothing is being done on the approximately 8,000 square meter Lebenshilfe property further up?

Sentences like these hurt Kockerols.

Mainly because they are never approached directly.

“If you ask me, I’m happy to answer questions,” emphasizes the managing director.

And this despite the fact that it still has to remain unclear on a number of points.

“Wishy-washy statements” are not her style, asserts Kockerols.

Especially since they are unsatisfactory for everyone involved - especially the residents and employees of Haus Bambi.

But one thing is certain: “We are taking our steps,” says Kockerols.

“Even if it’s usually small steps.”

Preliminary design planning is in full swing

Then Kockerols gets specific.

Lebenshilfe is currently in preliminary design planning.

The architect has now incorporated the need that arose during the process to set up a separate group with short-term places.

Some requests for structural changes or suggestions from the community were also taken into account.

In the next few days, Lebenshilfe will present the current version of the preliminary draft to the mayor and the building authority.

At the same time, the specialist authorities at the district office, the fire brigade as well as the home supervision and the Upper Bavaria district could also take a look at it and make their comments.

According to Kockerols, the aim of the whole thing is to ultimately present the local council with a draft of the project-related development plan that is as elaborate as possible.

The Lebenshilfe boss still cannot estimate exactly when the time will come.

The same applies to the costs.

The uncertainty factors are too great: How expensive the construction will be depends on the size of the area required.

These, in turn, could change during the course of planning.

It remains unclear which services will ultimately have to be advertised and which offers will then be received.

Last but not least, the subsidies in question could still fluctuate - depending on how much funding is available in the state budget at the time.

“Other providers have certainly run into financing difficulties here,” says Kockerols.

Lebenshilfe has set up a working group

The managing director is not the only one concerned with all of this.

The head of Haus Bambi, Erika Guggenmos, also sits on the “New Home” working group.

Of course, feedback and suggestions from employees, parents and the children themselves would also be incorporated into the project, assures Kockerols.

At least the renovation work on the old building on Rauheckstrasse in Neuhaus has now been completed, reports the Lebenshilfe managing director.

The outdoor area will also be upgraded with new play equipment in the spring.

Meanwhile, the personnel situation remains volatile.

“Sometimes better, sometimes worse,” says Kockerols.

However, Lebenshilfe is currently looking intensively for reinforcements again.

“We are far from alone in this,” the managing director is convinced.
