Tops
Verstappen and Red Bull above the rest
The difference seemed even more obvious than in Bahrain.
The competition has reason to be afraid.
The Red Bulls are above the rest, their race pace is terrifying and the rivals are pushed back by more than twenty seconds.
Max Verstappen had a quiet Saturday with a good start and good management of the safety car to change his tires.
A pass on Lando Norris at the restart and the job was done.
Sergio Perez quickly overtook Charles Leclerc at the start of the race and kept the pace of his teammate, the only one capable of doing so.
Second double in two races for Red Bull.
Scary.
Bearman, great first with points
Everything happened quickly for the 18-year-old Englishman.
On Thursday, he took pole in F2.
On Friday, he replaced Carlos Sainz, victim of appendicitis, and set the 11th fastest time in qualifying.
On Saturday, Oliver Bearman proved that he had a lot of talent with a good seventh place for his first in Formula 1. The race was well controlled with an aggressive start on softs before switching to hards after the safety car.
All good.
Piastri, solid 4th
Very good race from the Australian, who started fifth, who quickly overtook Fernando Alonso after the start.
Piastri had pace at the start of the race and took advantage of the safety car to change his tires.
He then struggled with Lewis Hamilton for a long time but benefited from the offbeat strategy of the Mercedes driver and Lando Norris, his teammate, to finish fourth.
Strong.
Flops
Stroll at fault
Tenth on the grid, the Canadian wanted to score points on Saturday in Jeddah but he quickly got it wrong.
Stroll missed his start, quickly heckled by Tsunoda and Bearman.
Ninth on the seventh lap but under pressure, the Aston Martin driver overdid it and hit, ending his race in the wall.
Disappointing performance for Racing Bulls
We expected better from Racing Bulls, formerly Alpha Tauri, in Saudi Arabia after a disappointing first round in Sakhir.
Ninth on the grid, Yuki Tsunoda had ambitions but the Japanese lacked pace in the race against the Williams and the Haas.
He finally ranks 14th, ahead of Daniel Ricciardo (16th) who is going through the start of the season like a ghost except when he spins like on Saturday two laps from the goal.
Alpine still behind
Black Saturday for Pierre Gasly.
Eighteenth on the grid, the Frenchman encountered problems with his gearbox on the formation lap and this forced him to retire at the end of the first lap.
Esteban Ocon fought the entire race with the Williams and Yuki Tsunoda, in particular, and the Norman finished 13th.
Still a lot of work for Alpine.
