Munich – There is hardly an event where presenter Sylvie Meis (45) does not appear perfectly styled.

She once again provided proof of this at rehearsals for the musical “Hercules” in Hamburg.

Behind the golden dress and the almost divine appearance there is a sad story.

She has much more in common with the musical than just fun and singing.

Sylvie Meis remembers her cancer

“The story of this hero touches me because he always has to prove his strength and has such a big heart.

I often had to find my true strength again.

Hercules reminds me of that,” explains Sylvie Meis, the presenter of “Love Island”.

And the 45-year-old also has to swallow when she sees the show wigs.

It reminds her of her own wig, the one she wore when she lost her hair as a result of six months of chemotherapy.

In 2009, the former “Let’s Dance” candidate (2010) suffered from breast cancer.

But the diagnosis not only changed Sylvie Meis' life, but also her appearance.

As a result of the treatment she lost her long hair, her eyelashes and eyebrows.

This difficult time still shapes her to this day - but it also has positive sides: “It was a new start in my life.

I have always been a confident girl, but I have to say that the woman I am today is because I found myself and experienced a lot of things.”
