Three teachers from Lenggries are organizing a village tour for democracy and against racism on March 23rd.

You want to make a statement.

Lenggries – There will be a tour for democracy and against racism on Saturday, March 23rd in Lenggries.

It is organized by Julia Kast, Lena Kinshofer and Anna Landscheid.

The three teachers “also want to set an example in Lenggries,” says Lena Kinshofer when asked.

“We reject extremism, misanthropy and anti-Semitism”

The three write in a letter to Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher, the local councils, the churches, the parties and the partnership association that they are observing “the attitudes that threaten democracy with great concern”.

“We want to become active in our home community for democracy, for human rights and cohesion in society.

We want to set an example for ourselves and our children: our free, democratic basic order is our top priority; our values are reflected in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.” No matter whether conservative, moderate, liberal – “we want to get in with everyone Live peace.

We reject extremism, misanthropy and anti-Semitism, regardless of the direction,” the letter says.

Organizers hope for support from parties, churches and associations

The three organizers want to forge as broad an alliance as possible for the tour.

“It is important to us that this comes from the middle of society,” says Kinshofer.

The three would therefore be happy if representatives of the Protestant and Catholic churches in the village took part in the tour.

The same also applies to local politics, parties and associations.

The invitation also goes out to the Lenggries-Bretagne partnership association, which is particularly committed to reconciliation and international understanding.

“That is why we would like to ask you, dear board of directors of the partnership association, to support our cause,” the letter says.

Speeches and music are welcome - by arrangement

Short speeches are desired - after consultation with the organizers, after all they do not want to provide a platform for election campaigns or political disputes, said the 34-year-old.

“We are also happy about musical contributions.” The event has been registered.

The organizers are currently expecting around 100 to 150 participants.
