In the northern Hesse district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg, a wolf ran close to residential buildings.
A woman describes her observation.
Neuenstein-Obergeis – “Mom, look.
“What kind of big dog is coming?” But the big animal that is slowly walking past the Niebel family’s house in Neuenstein-Obergeis (Hersfeld-Rotenburg district) is not a dog, but a wolf, mom Eva Niebel realizes and takes a look directly your cell phone.
The 38-year-old and her ten-year-old daughter were able to observe the animal for several minutes.
Eva Niedel calls the police, who refer her to the Wolf Monitor information network, which collects wolf sightings in the region.
“I was surprised, especially because he was so close,” says the Neuensteiner, describing her observation on Monday morning, shortly before she wanted to leave for school with her daughter.
She called her uncle straight away - the wolf had come from the direction of his property.
The family hasn't seen the wolf since Monday morning, but Eva Niebel wants to be careful for now.
“We have a young dog.
He had to go out twice during the night.
“We turned on all the lights and went out,” says the 38-year-old.

Wolf in Northern Hesse: Report sightings via hotline
The ten and eleven-year-old children also won't be playing with the dog in the garden in the coming days, she says worriedly.
After all, you don't know whether the wolf will come back again.
The Wolf Center of the Hessian State Office for Nature Conservation, Environment and Geology (HLNUG) also received a photo of “a wolf-like animal, which was stated to have originated in the Neuenstein-Obergeis area,” according to our newspaper’s request.
The wolf center was also informed about sightings in the area mentioned via the wolf hotline.
However, the case is still being processed and an assessment is still pending.
Accordingly, the authority cannot confirm any evidence of wolves, it goes on to say.
