The fair before the fair.
While the doors of the famous flea market meeting opened to the public this Friday morning, the island of the Impressionists had already been teeming since the day before.
For one day, the Chatou Fair (Yvelines) was in fact reserved for professionals on Thursday.
Antique dealers, second-hand dealers but also decorators, interior designers, some of whom come from the other side of the world in the hope of getting a good deal at the bend of an alley.
These few hours in isolation represent “an important moment” of the fair, as explained by Rémi Machard, the president of the National Union for the Trade of Antiquities, Second-Hand and Modern and Contemporary Art Galleries (SNCAO). -GA), organizer of the event.
Because these rather special customers don’t just come to hunt like “Sunday individuals”.
