An unknown person removed the catalytic converter from a car parked in Geretsried - and disappeared with it.

The police report a “curious” incident.
The crime scene was the parking lot at Böhmwiese in the town of Geretsried.
A vehicle mechatronics technician was injured.
Geretsried – A vehicle owner from Geretsried filed a report with the police station in Geretsried on Saturday evening.
According to his own statements, the man had parked his Honda in the parking lot at Böhmwiese around 2:30 p.m. - when the vehicle mechatronics technician returned to his car around 6 p.m. and turned the ignition key, he heard a very loud engine noise.

“Curious” crime in broad daylight: Bad surprise for vehicle mechatronics engineers
During his absence, a previously unknown person removed and stole the car's catalytic converter “with a cutting tool,” according to the police.
“The curious thing about the matter is that the crime had to be technically prepared on the vehicle due to various tuning attachments.” And: “The damage is likely to be around 100 euros - which is not causal to the fact that the crime was carried out.”
The crime probably happened in front of witnesses
“Due to the time and location of the crime, it is quite likely that the crime was observed by witnesses,” said a police spokesman.
The Geretsried officials will accept information on 0 81 71/9 35 10.
