“I remain eternally dissatisfied. I think I will forever have this lack of self-confidence anyway
,” explains Guillaume Canet when his interlocutor asks him if he has become the man he dreamed of being.
And added:
“It necessarily comes from education”
.
He owes this education to Philippe Canet and Marie-Antoine Canet, his parents having divorced when he was only 10 years old.

“It helps you heal”
Audrey Crespo-Mara emphasizes in her interview to what extent the actor lacked a
“normal family life”
when he was a child, a situation which triggered strong anxiety in him.
“My body reacted, I had shingles at 11 and an ulcer at 13.
The body speaks and it is better that it speaks.
It's like emergency buttons, it allows you to heal.
It's when it sounds more that it's worrying.

The interviewer then picks up on her confidences to bring it up again about her sisters, having left the family home quickly.
“You found yourself alone with your mother
,” she continues before being cut off by Guillaume Canet, visibly taken aback.
“You know a thing or two!”
»
he says, to which Audrey Crespo-Mara responds in a humorous tone:
“you saw, I worked eh”
.
The actor then does not hesitate to make him understand that the exchange is similar to a therapy session.
“You want me to lie down on the couch?”
»
he quips before answering more seriously.
“These are childish things, which I have since sorted out, but yes, these are things that are striking.”
