“I ran over a woman”: Police release recording of shocking call

“Yes, Mom, it’s me,” says a woman, sobbing.

The person called then asks: “Who?”

“The Manuela?” to which the fraudster says yes.

“Where are you, Manuela?” the person you called wants to know.

“I’m with the police right now.

I was just arrested.

I ran over a woman,” the young woman sobs into the phone.

“Yes, you’re not really with me, I’m the woman…” the person you called replies.

“Wait, I’ll give you the police.

Please get me out of here, I'm sorry."

“Yes,” the person called replies.

Then the excerpt from the shock call ends, a policewoman appears in the picture and explains how one should behave in such a case.

Over 40 people shared the post, with many reporting similar experiences in the comments.

It is not clear from the report by the Middle Franconian police whether the fraudsters were successful with the shock call in this specific case.
