“Tatort” actor Harald Krassnitzer plays Inspector Moritz Eisner in the Viennese crime thriller and has a hobby in his private life that is almost suitable for a film.

Cologne – Harald Krassnitzer (63) has been seen as Inspector Moritz Eisner in the Austrian “crime scene” for 25 years.

In addition to his passion for acting, Krassnitzer indulges in his hobby as a sailor.

Away from the scripts, the TV star enjoys sailing across the world's rivers.

In the “Kölner Treff” he now shares more private details about his unusual hobby.

Strong contrast: one day Harald Krassnitzer is in front of the camera as a tough inspector and the next he is driving his boat towards the sunset.

But the 63-year-old doesn't just sail around in any boat: "It's a simple wooden boat in a traditional design, which is often used on the rivers in Austria and in lakes with this design."

The “Tatort” star likes to spend his summers on the rustic vehicle.

The actor has already traveled to seven countries with his wooden boat and experienced unforgettable moments, as he reveals in “Kölner Treff”: “If you have nothing, you are more quickly satisfied with the simple things.

That’s you in such a narrow and small boat”.

Instead of flashlights and luxury, “Tatort” detective Harald Krassnitzer enjoys the moments in which he is alone.

“On such a small boat, a gas stove and a cup quickly become an experience,” explains the 63-year-old on the talk show.

Traveling on his wooden boat gives the Austrian much more than just peace and quiet: “You don’t meet the people I want to meet on a motor yacht.”

On his travels, Krassnitzer visited all the countries that can be reached from Vienna via the Danube.

However, the “Tatort” fans don’t notice any of this in the first one; here the actor prefers to stay on the ground and solve his cases conscientiously.

By the way: “Tatort” is currently being criticized for conveying a false image of crime – the station is responding to this.
