Alger

This is Algeria's new ambition: to become a hydrogen exporting country.

And more precisely, supply Europe, by 2040, with 10% of its needs in green hydrogen.

On the other side of the Mediterranean, certain capitals have already positioned themselves.

Berlin is working to capture these future exports.

At the beginning of February, Germany and Algeria notably signed an agreement for the creation of a common “task force” for the development of green hydrogen (produced from renewable electricity) and the launch of a unit experimental green hydrogen production project on the Sonatrach site in Arzew (West), with a capacity of 50 megawatts.

Germany has just allocated 20 million dollars to this project.
