It's not official yet, and it's not surprising either: Waltentina Dahms is supposed to be a joint candidate for the CSU and FW.

Markt Schwaben –

The Free Voters Markt Schwaben and the local CSU regret the unexpected step of First Mayor Michael Stolze to resign from his office.

This is what it says in a joint press release that was forwarded to the local press by email on Sunday night.

At the same time, the two local parties announced that they had found a common candidate in the incumbent second mayor, Valentina Dahms. The base makes the final decision.

It goes on to say that the incumbent, Michael Stolze, has always filled the office with great commitment in the interests of all citizens over the last four years.

“Important plans could be initiated and projects implemented.

Our market town is navigating in calmer waters today than just a few years ago,” it also says.

The CSU and Free Voters are convinced that it is crucial for the future of the market town to once again focus on togetherness in local politics.

Projects initiated by Mayor Stolze must continue to be successful with the greatest possible continuity and new challenges must be met with objective politics.

A situation like the current one must not be allowed to happen again.

For this reason, after intensive discussions, the local boards of the CSU and FW have decided to suggest to their members that they nominate a joint candidate for the mayor's office in the upcoming early elections.

Press release sent out on Sunday night

The joint statement states that Market Swabia will continue to need a female mayor for everyone in the future.

This refers to the Second Mayor Valentina Dahms.

She has now agreed to run as the local association's joint candidate.

It goes on to say: “Walentina Dahms not only has many years of experience in the municipal sector, but also has a deep understanding of the needs of our community.

Her dedicated work and her skills in dealing with a wide range of challenges have made her a valued personality.

Your broad network, which extends far beyond the municipal boundaries, is also an enrichment.”

Over the last four years, Valentina Dahms, as Second Mayor, has already worked very closely and trustingly with Stolze and has been well versed in existing processes and processes in the town hall.

The party base still has to make a final decision

As a next step, both local boards will present the joint proposal to their members.

In their own words, FW and CSU are confident that their candidacy will meet with broad approval and look forward to constructively shaping a positive future for the community together with the people of the Swabian market.
