He is very proud of his pig and peasant origins: he has already paid homage to two other illustrious fellow citizens of Taranta, namely the great Italian-American writer John Fante and the founder of the Maiella Brigade Ettore Troilo, who as a young man was a lawyer in Giacomo's firm Matteotti.
The Maiella is the only partisan formation of the Resistance honored with the gold medal for military valor.
If he wins he will go to Troilo's grave to lay a flower. His list of achievements also includes the presidency of the National Accounting Principles Commission of the National Council of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts.
Since 2014, with the centre-left government at the helm of the Abruzzo Region, D'Amico has been president of the regional public transport company (Arpa), in a moment of transition and merger which gave rise to the current Abruzzo public transport company (Your).
