A couple was arrested on Sunday morning in Lyon and explosives seized from their apartment were destroyed, AFP learned from the police.
The police, who intervened with the Raid, discovered in the apartment in the 8th arrondissement a kilo of explosive, a false identity card and a booklet of Salafist literature, according to a police source.
The arrests took place following information that a woman was likely to make explosives in her apartment and sell them via social networks.
The couple was known to the services for criminal records.
The judicial police were seized and the products destroyed due to their
“dangerousness”
, according to the same source.
The prosecutor's office was not immediately available for comment.
Earlier on Sunday, the prefect of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region announced an operation by demining services aimed at
“securing and neutralizing several fireworks in the Clos Layat park”
in Lyon.
