He made his choice of field at a very young age and has never changed his mind: Marco Marsilio turned 56 on 17 February.

He was born in Rome to parents from Tocco da Casauria who left Abruzzo in search of work.

Graduated in Philosophy at La Sapienza University, from 1996 to 2000 he was vice president of Azione Giovani, the youth movement of the National Alliance, but his militancy in the Colle Oppio section dates back to the 1980s, when the Italian Social Movement still existed.

And since then his friendship with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and other leaders of the Roman right such as Fabrizio Rampelli was born and continued.

Marsilio's cursus honorum in Roman institutions has almost no weak points: district and municipal councilor in Rome, he was then elected to the Chamber in 2008 and to the Senate in 2018. In 2012 he was among the founders of Fratelli d'Italia.

On 11 February 2020 he was elected vice-president of the Party of European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR), of which Fratelli d'Italia is a member, at the Committee of the Regions of the European Union, in 2022 he became president.

It supported major events, such as the Napoli football team retreat and the Giro d'Italia to promote the Abruzzo brand.

Marsilio is a long-standing politician with considerable experience in the party apparatus, and in civilian life he has been involved in planning and consultancy.
