Because there have been repeated inquiries at the Weilheim town hall recently, the city is changing the development plan for the new development area east of Prälatenweg.

In the future, semi-detached houses will also be possible on single house plots.

Weilheim – This is a sought-after but particularly expensive residential area in the south of Weilheim.

That is why, according to the city building department, there have recently been “increased” inquiries for the new development area east of Prälatenweg as to whether a semi-detached house could be built instead on properties for which a single house has so far been designated.

The city council's building committee was open to this request and decided unanimously at its most recent meeting to change the development plan "East of Prelatenweg II" for two building sites between Anton-Lieb-Straße and Dr.-Johannes-Weiß-Straße accordingly.

Both single and semi-detached houses are now permitted there - as is already the case in other parts of the new development area.

Green city councilor: “We definitely have to do it”

“We definitely have to do this,” said Green Party representative Luise Nowak, “in view of the price increases in the construction sector, this option is necessary.” Before the decision was made, CSU parliamentary group spokeswoman Marion Lunz-Schmieder wanted to know how many properties were already in the area in question are built.

Manfred Stork, head of the city's building administration, replied that he couldn't say that spontaneously.

However, he added that there had been no requests for semi-detached houses for the individual houses that had already been built in this area.

According to the city building authority, the change “does not bring any additional building rights”

Building administration manager Stork emphasized that this change “will not generate any additional building rights” in the “East of Prelatenweg II” building area.

Two residential units are already likely to be created in individual houses.

The new regulation, according to Stork, is merely a “legal clarification” that also enables real division of the properties.
