On Saturday, 16.

There will be a clothing swap in the Unterbräukeller from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on March 1st.

Guests bring good, discarded clothing with them and exchange it for new favorite items.

In this way they are taking a stand against excessive consumption.

Both are exchanged.

The leftover clothing will be donated to “Allerhand G'wand aus 2. Hand”.

Natalie Cusimano and Anja Birnkraut want to show that the topic of sustainability doesn't always have to be stressful, annoying and boring.

They are looking forward to an event where all participants can have fun and at the same time counteract fast fashion.

Three active groups invite you to a clothing swap party

The three active circles organize the clothing exchange.

Each active group contributes something of their own to the evening: Alessandra Neumüller will manage the bar with some women from “Frauen International - Markt Schwaben”, Anja Birnkraut will organize DJane Chéraldin, who will provide dance and visual happenings on the dance floor, and Petra Schmidt, a textile designer. Upcycling artist presenting her works in a fashion show.

Natalie Cusimano takes care of the advertising and sustainability aspects of the event, such as where the leftover clothing will be donated after the party.

“Clothes swap parties take place all over Germany anytime and anywhere.

The motivation for such events is that, according to a study by Greenpeace, around 4 out of 10 items of clothing are rarely or never worn.

They end up in the back corner of the wardrobe or are quickly thrown away again.

On average, every German sorts out five kilograms of clothing per year - clothing has become disposable.

Nevertheless, fashion brands continue to advertise new collections and cheap prices.

In 2020, 200 billion items of clothing were produced, while every second a truckload of clothing is burned or thrown into a landfill.

“In addition, the fashion industry is responsible for a significant portion of greenhouse gas production, massively destroys the environment and poisons nature and people in the production countries,” says Cusimano.

In combination with the planned performances, this clothes swap in Markt Schwaben will certainly be more than just an evening for a new outfit.

This is how it works: With free entry, guests bring a maximum of five items of clothing or accessories that they have sorted out, washed and are still in good condition.

The clothes have to be in such good condition that you would give them to your best friend or girlfriend.

The resulting collection can be browsed and tried on throughout the evening.

Changing rooms and mirrors are on site.

To ensure that everyone has the same fun swapping, volunteers will be happy to give advice and constantly re-sort the clothes racks.
