By a vote of 15:6, the local councilors voted that, despite moderate demand, the allocation of building sites in southern Bachfeld should continue and that no deadline should be set for applications.
Peiting - The first award process for the eight municipal parcels - not for the eight properties for private sale - ended in December.
Only three applications were received that could be evaluated, said managing director Stefan Kort.
It is not yet certain how many of these will remain in the spring.
Criteria such as the written declaration of cost assumption must be checked.
The alternative to continuing the award procedure would have been to initially stop the procedure and start it again at a later date.
Bachfeld in Peiting: Would you prefer apartment buildings?
Susann-Tabatabai-Schweizer (Greens) suggested using some of the land that was difficult to sell as an area for one or two apartment buildings.
Managing director Kort explained that for apartments, terraced houses and semi-detached houses, the municipality would have to bring in “another authority”, i.e. a property developer, for the purpose of construction and marketing.
The alternatives to single-family homes are also “not a sure-fire success”.
Mayor Peter Ostenrieder replied that several apartments were currently being built in Peiting.
He doesn't want to "discard" the idea of multi-family homes right away, but he wants to let it rest for now.
This could be taken up again if sales in Bachfeld remain so tense.
Norbert Merk (CSU) said that a multi-generational house was conceivable.
But you shouldn't consider existing areas where single-family houses or semi-detached houses are planned.
The community also lives from the taxes of the people “who come to us”.
Bachfeld in Peiting: Hope for falling construction prices
Marion Gillinger (ÖDP) emphasized the “social mandate” that young families can stay in the area.
Alexander Zila (independent) advocated a stop to sales - either on the properties on Heimgartenstrasse or in southern Bachfeld.
Christian Lory (Independent) was convinced that the construction industry would change step by step.
Franz Seidel (Citizens' Association) also found that residential construction was on the rocks, which is why building prices would fall again.
Ostenrieder pointed out that there was 90,000 square meters in Peiting that could be built on immediately.
The creation of living space is not only the responsibility of the municipality, but also for private owners.
