The so-called ball hut of TSV Perchting-Hadorf was destroyed by flames on Saturday night.

The hut burned down completely and the damage was in the tens of thousands.

The cause of the fire was still unclear at the weekend.

After all, friendly clubs have already offered help to TSV.

Perchting - It is still unclear how the fire started early Saturday morning around 2:40 a.m.

The exact amount of damage is not yet known.

But what Richard Rothdauscher, the chairman of TSV Perchting-Hadorf, knows: “It’s a catastrophe for the club,” he says in an interview with Starnberger Merkur.

The so-called ball hut right next to the sports field in Perchting burned down completely that night.

The club stored the ride-on lawn mower, balls and training equipment and tools, among other things.

Everything was destroyed by flames.

And yet the firefighters who were deployed prevented an even greater catastrophe, namely the flames from spreading to the neighboring clubhouse with the Rustichella restaurant, which was only about eight meters away at its narrowest point.

It was the first major fire in Perchting in many years.

The evening before, the comrades had met for the annual general meeting, which, according to Commander Andreas Bartl, lasted until around 11 p.m.

“It was a short night,” he says.

A total of 48 firefighters from Perchting, Starnberg, Söcking, Maising and Hadorf as well as from the district fire inspection were on duty.

“When the first rescue workers arrived, the woodshed was already fully engulfed in flames,” explains operations manager Bartl.

“There was nothing left to save.” Seven teams extinguished the fire using heavy breathing apparatus and three C-pipes.

The emergency services ensured the water supply with a 300 meter long hose line from the hydrant at the children's home on Jägersbrunner Straße.

They also protected the clubhouse with a so-called locking position.

Finally, the last remaining embers had to be extinguished.

“The operation went very well,” says Commander Bartl.

At around 5:30 a.m., the Perchtingers were the last of the deployed firefighters to move back into the equipment house.

The fire department cannot say anything about the cause of the fire.

Bartl also does not comment on local rumors that it could have been arson.

TSV chairman Rothdauscher reacts similarly.

He heard that fire investigators from the criminal police from Fürstenfeldbruck wanted to come this Monday.

Seven squads of the 48 emergency services had put on heavy respiratory protection.

The responsible police headquarters in Upper Bavaria North had no further information on Sunday.

“The cause of the fire is unclear,” said a spokesman when asked.

“There are no concrete clues yet.” The Fürstenfeldbruck criminal investigation service supported the Starnberg colleagues.

Everything else has to happen on Monday.

The spokesman was also unable to provide any precise information about the amount of damage.

An initial report mentioned 40,000 euros, but this sum is not yet verifiable.

Richard Rothdauscher was woken up by the siren on Saturday night, he reports.

“I also noticed the smell of fire, but didn’t initially attach much importance to it.” Only after a fireman informed him on the landline phone a little later did he drive to the sports field.

What will happen next is not yet 100% clear.

When it comes to mowing the football field, Rothdauscher says he is already in contact with a farmer from Machtlfing.

In addition, SV Söcking and SC Weßling have already offered their support.

Operations in the clubhouse and therefore also in the Rustichella restaurant can run without restrictions.

A women's team will play its first home game after the winter break next Saturday, March 16th, at 1 p.m. against SC Olching.

According to the game plan, the U19 of TSV Perchting-Hadorf will host FT Starnberg 09 II on Sunday, March 17th at 11 a.m., while the senior team has a home game against SC on Sunday, March 24th at 3 p.m Malching.
