For some, acting remains a lifeless art.

Leonard Lansink is all the more grateful for his role in “Wilsberg”.

The 67-year-old knows about the problems within his industry.

Hamburg – Since 1998, Leonard Lansink has played the antiquarian and private detective Georg Wilsberg in the ZDF crime film series of the same name.

For the Hamm-born actor, who has also starred in “Tatort” and “Das Traumschiff”, the role is a real blessing – artistically, but not least financially.

The 67-year-old is aware of how bad things are for many of his colleagues from theater, film and television.

“Wilsberg” actor Leonard Lansink complains about the “precarious situation” among actors

The acting industry is considered a tough place: long-term engagements or permanent roles, such as Leonard Lansink's “Wilsberg” appearances, are rather the exception.

Many actors, despite years of training, have to earn their daily bread outside of the performing arts.

Lansink also denounced this on Friday evening (January 5th) on the “NDR Talk Show”: “Actors generally live in a precarious situation.

“95 percent of all colleagues cannot make a living from what they have learned,” said the film and television star openly about the injustices in his industry.

Due to a lack of role opportunities, some people would have to become “taxi drivers or flight attendants”.

Leonard Lansink wasn't Wilsberg at all to begin with

As Wilsberg, Leonard Lansink has become an integral part of the German television landscape; after all, the actor has been investigating on ZDF since 1998.

However, the series itself celebrated its premiere in 1995 - back then with Joachim Król as Georg Wilsberg.

For him, however, it was over after the first episode (“And the dead are let rest”).

The second episode (“In old friendship”) only ran three years later.

In it, Lansink then embodied Wilsberg - including another change: the title hero, who was initially a stamp dealer, became an antiquarian.

Leonard Lansink is extremely grateful for his “Wilsberg” commitment

Because the "Wilsberg" star knows such problems from his colleagues, he is overjoyed not to be affected: "That's why it's great when you're so busy." He sees his ongoing career like "winning the lottery." said Leonard Lansink.

With good reason: It only recently became known that a famous ZDF commissioner could no longer even afford his retirement home.
