“I’m young, but good” – the Greens are sending 23-year-olds into the race for the election in Jetzendorf

Jetzendorf – On International Women’s Day, the Jetzendorf local Green Party nominated Emily Rumpf as mayoral candidate.

13 members of the local association took part in the secret ballot, twelve of whom chose Emily Rumpf.

One vote was invalid.

There was a spirit of optimism at this meeting, at which Greens from neighboring local associations were also represented.

With her presence, the state chairwoman of the Bavarian Greens, Eva Lettenbauer, also showed that she has a lot of confidence in the Jetzendorf mayoral candidate.

The district association of the Greens also congratulated the 23-year-old from Jetzendorf on her clear mandate to take up the mayor's office after the election on Sunday, June 9th.

As reported several times, this early election is necessary because the incumbent mayor Manfred Betzin (independent) is leaving office at the end of March for health reasons.

Thunderous applause at the meeting

“I’m young, but good,” said Rumpf when she was introduced.

She is a political scientist, has been a member of the Jetzendorf local council for three years and works full-time for the Green Party member of the Bundestag Leon Eckert.

She is also familiar with EU funding, which Jetzendorf could benefit from if she becomes mayor.

“And I would be happy to make my know-how and my power available to the community of Jetzendorf full time,” said the mayoral candidate, who also asked the question: “Why shouldn’t Jetzendorf elect the youngest mayor in Bavaria?” Thunderous applause was the answer from the meeting.

Rumpf is convinced that he can stand up to even the strongest man diplomatically, “without him being angry afterwards.”

It's time for Jetzendorf to strengthen the young, fresh perspective of women.

Rumpf doesn't see herself as a dreamer, "I represent things that are possible."

Everyone thinks making life in the community greener is a good thing, “unless a Green person says it.”

The community of Jetzendorf is a cool community with lively clubs and great companies and people.

A community like this should be brave enough to elect a Green mayor who grew up here and loves her homeland.

Rumpf emphasized that she has roots in Jetzendorf, as she has been active in TSV since she was eleven.

As an assistant trainer, referee and at major events – such as the most recent gymnastics show.

Because she is still so young, she wants Jetzendorf not to lose its importance in the district.

Their goal is to make the community a little more livable for all citizens.

Your core message: The citizen must be the focus.

It has three main goals.

First: The creation of a village café with integrated youth rooms and affordable living space on the upper floor on the community-owned property near Maibaum.

Secondly: youth policy in an overall concept involving the youth association with permanent youth representation.

Third: Consistent and rapid expansion of renewable energies locally, “because there are tangible ecological and financial benefits for everyone.”

Confident demeanor impressed

The mayoral candidate's self-confident demeanor impressed both the Green Party's local chairwoman, Dr.

Ursula Gross-Dinter as well as the Pfaffenhofen district chairwoman Bettina Markl and the Bavarian state chairwoman Eva Lettenbauer.

Gross-Dinter was pleased that a woman had been chosen as a candidate for mayor on International Women's Day.

“Many men could take an example from her,” said Green district leader Markl, and the Green state chairwoman spoke of the biggest highlight on International Women’s Day, “because only nine percent of women hold mayoral positions in Bavaria.”

In Lettenbauer's opinion, that has to change and Jetzendorf should take advantage of the opportunity.

Women are not only in demand in local politics when it comes to childcare facilities and school problems, women are often the success factors in the entire local politics.
