Is road traffic in Paris as unrestrained as we think?
Equipped with a portable radar, Bushnell Velocity model, we went to measure peak speeds, for around ten minutes, in around twenty sectors limited to 30 or 50 km/h.

Although speed is poorly controlled, the City believes that this theoretical ceiling has the effect of calming traffic.
“When your dashboard tells you that you are above the authorized limit, you tend to slow down,” they say at City Hall.
