The Luiss School of Government will host, on Wednesday 13 February from 11 am, the lectiomagistralis of the inistro for Institutional Reforms and Regulatory Simplification Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati on the theme "Vig and Reforms: good politics that looks to the future".

A focus on the prospects for young people on the eve of the introduction, in Italy, of an important tool for their protection: the Generational Impact Assessment of laws (VIG).


    In fact, the device which in Brussels is called Youth Check and which has already been applied for some years in Germany and Austria is about to become a reality in our country too.


   The Council of Ministers, at its meeting on 5 December, preliminarily approved the bill which introduces delegations to the Government for regulatory simplification and includes VIG, which provides for a real reform of the current legislative processes.

Once implemented, Italian laws will have to take into account the environmental, social or economic effects on young people and future generations.


    "A true Copernican revolution that tries to give a concrete and hopefully decisive response to the emerging generation gap that affects our young Italians", explains the professor.

Luciano Monti, professor of European Union Policies at Luiss and curator of the Youth Policies Observatory of the Bruno Visentini Foundation who will introduce the lectiomagistralis after greetings from the Director of the Luiss School of Government, Giovanni Orsina.


    The intervention of Minister Maria Elisabetta Casellati will focus, in particular, on the illustration of the reforms within her competence necessary to give the country stability, competitiveness and intergenerational equity, including "the premiership", regulatory simplification and, indeed, the VIG.


    Following the lecture, which will be held in the "Giovanni Nocco" room of the Luiss Faculty of Law in via Parenzo 11, the comments of: Beatrice Aimi, Councilor for Youth Policies, Municipality of ParmaFederica Celestini Campanari, Extraordinary Commissioner of the Italian Youth AgencyNicola Lupo, Director of the Master in Parliament and Public Policies, Luiss School of GovernmentMaria Cristina Pisani, President of the National Youth Council. A debate will follow with the students, moderated by Marco ValerioLo Prete, political editor-in-chief of Tg1.
