This is how they know the people of Maisacher: Nicole Kölnsperger in her “Rotblonde Faden” on Hauptstrasse 5. Now she is giving up her shop.

“It breaks my heart,” she says.

Maisach loses another business: Nicole Kölnsperger gives up her “red-blonde thread”.

Inflation is bringing the 35-year-old to her knees - even though she says she has enough orders.

Maisach - Whether personalized pillows for a birth, individual embroidery on bags, T-shirts etc. or mugs with funny sayings - anyone looking for a special little something in Maisach went to the “Rotblonde Faden”.

But this shop on the main street will soon be history.

Nicole Kölnsperger gives up on him.

The sale of goods and machines has already started.

Sad to death

“I'm sad to death because I don't actually want it,” says the 35-year-old.

But everything is becoming more expensive, their fixed costs have increased dramatically, as have the material costs.

“It’s all no longer manageable,” says the Maisacher.

“I do earn money, but not in such a way that I can build up reserves for old age.” That’s why she has now pulled the trigger – with a heavy heart.

It is important for her to emphasize that she is not broke.

On the contrary.

“I have a lot of customers, an incredible amount of orders,” says Nicole Kölnsperger.

Many are sad that she has to give up.

This is also shown by the reactions on Facebook to her announcement that the red-blond thread is closing.

Higher prices?

For weeks she thought about whether there was another solution than going out of business.

Her tax advisor recommended that she increase the prices significantly and invest less time in personal advice or invoice for it.

“But I don’t want that, that’s not me,” says Nicole Kölnsperger.

“I want it to remain this special gift made with love.”

The Maisacher started her business, which she named after the hair colors of her two daughters (10 and 13), a good six years ago - back then in a small workroom below the family apartment.

The “red blonde thread” really became known through the corona pandemic.

Because in 2020, when masks were in short supply, Nicole Kölnsperger started an unprecedented project: she sewed face masks with her family.

The Kölnspergers were supported by numerous amateur seamstresses.

Even Stern TV reported on the initiative.

It was a dream

A good year later, the “Rotblonde Faden” moved to Hauptstrasse 5, into the premises of the former Gürtner organic bakery.

“I had a dream back then,” says the 35-year-old.

“I actually always saw myself driving out of the store with the walker.” But that’s over.

Nicole Kölnsperger wants to return to her job as a medical assistant in the near future.

Then she can not only save something for her old age, but also have a little more time for her family.

Many self-employed people are feeling the same way as she does, says the Maisacher.

Small businesses would be destroyed by inflation and bureaucracy.

That has to change again.

Looking for tenant

It is still unclear when Nicole Kölnsperger will close her “reddish blonde thread” for the last time.

The rental agreement for the 67 square meters (sales room, work area, small kitchen) including parking spaces (three in front of the store, one in the back yard) runs until February 28, 2026. That's why she is urgently looking for a new tenant.

However, there are requirements from the landlord.

she explains.

Ice cream parlors, kebab shops and grocery stores are excluded.

Interested parties can contact Nicole Kölnsperger via her homepage (www.rotblonderfaden.de) or come directly to “Rotblonden Faden”, Hauptstraße 5.
