For a long time, our societies have bullied homosexuals.
The religious authorities abominated them;
the legal authorities repressed them;
public opinion despised them;
customs marginalized them.
This is generally no longer the case in the West, while persecution persists or worsens in other civilizational areas.
We could be proud of it.
But, for followers of repentance, the abolition of prejudices is not enough.
The State must still show contrition towards homosexuals, as with all groups mistreated in our history.
How ?
In particular by financially repairing past wrongs.
This first idea (compensating rather than passing a lucid judgment on ourselves) is already questionable.
You can't repair the irreparable with money.
However, it seems fair to compensate…
