During an inspection of heavy goods traffic on the B472 carried out on Monday, the police found some “significant violations”.

A log transporter was heavily overloaded.

Bichl - The police found violations, some of which were significant, during a heavy goods inspection on Monday on federal highway 472.

A truck driver first had to unload tons of material on site before he was allowed to continue driving.

For several hours on Monday, officers from the Tölz police station, together with specialists from the Weilheim traffic police station, checked heavy goods traffic on the B472 near Bichl.

From small vans to 40-ton trucks – the officers' main focus was on maintaining speed, securing loads, and driving and rest times.

“Significant violations of statutory driving and rest times were found in several vehicles checked,” the police report states.

“Not insignificant speeding violations could also be detected using the integrated control device.”

Minor violations were found in other vehicles

A long timber transporter was so overloaded that it was prevented from continuing its journey.

The driver had to unload several tons on site.

Only then was he allowed to continue his journey.

The service brake on a trailer did not work properly and the driver was not allowed to continue driving.

Minor violations were found in other vehicles or drivers and will be reported.

“The findings and the quality of the violations show once again the need for such regular checks,” the police concluded.

“Almost half of all vehicles inspected had to be punished, some fines are in the higher three-digit range.”
