The Coordinator of Government Operations in the Territories announced this evening (Tuesday) that in accordance with the directive of the political echelon, six aid trucks entered the northern Gaza Strip via "Crossing 96" last night as part of an experimental pilot in order to prevent Hamas from taking over the aid.
The trucks underwent a strict security check by Israeli security officials at the Kerem Shalom crossing and contain aid from the World Food Organization "WFP".

Last month, the Ministry of Health in Gaza reported 81 dead and more than 700 wounded Palestinians in the riots that developed around the introduction of humanitarian aid trucks into the Strip.
In the incident, Palestinian gangs tried to take over a truck and loot it, which caused the driver to panic and drive quickly into the crowd that had gathered there.
As a result, people were run over, and the commotion spread in the place.
The incident took place near the IDF position, where the role of the soldiers was to allow the transfer of the trucks as part of a humanitarian operation to transfer the aid. The soldiers, who felt that the crowd that was approaching them endangered them, responded by shooting. The IDF said that the details of the incident are under investigation.
